The Technology Briefing offers a compact overview on important and recent aspects for innovative door concepts. Based on examples, current challenges will be analysed and discussed and in this way prepares you for the presentations of newest developments in the main conference.

Topics of the Technology Briefing:

  • Which concepts best lend themselves for different material concepts and why?
  • How do different concepts compare in terms of technological and economic performance?
  • What are their pros and cons?
  • Which concepts can be applied in which vehicle segments?



Dr. Axel Förderreuther, Director Automotive Applications, Novelis

Dr. Axel Förderreuther studied Physical Metallurgy in Stuttgart and Oxford/GB and received his Doctorate at the Max-Planck-Institute for Metal Research. After some years with Alcoa Automotive, he changed to the engineering service provider RLE, where he, as Lead Engineer Lightweight Design and New Materials, was responsible for both technical and economic aspects of OEM car body and lightweight design development projects. In May 2015, he joined the aluminium producer Novelis as Senior Manager, Global Automotive Technology Strategy.

Participation fee

550,- € plus 19% German VAT
450,- € plus 19% German VAT in combination with booking the main conference

Please note that the Technology Briefing and the main conference are two independent events. Separate registration for both events is required.
