Flexibility in multi-variant manufacturing

Manage a wide range of models and successfully handle the impact of new drive systems on final assembly. – Running under this motto, the Automotive Circle is organising an Insight Assembly Conference at the Dingolfing plant in cooperation with the BMW Group. The Dingolfing plant is already manufacturing BMW 5 and 7 plug-in hybrids on the same production lines as combustion engine vehicles. Integration of the BMW iNext and a purely electric vehicle have created an even greater need for flexibility in assembling different drive systems.

Our high-calibre assembly network gives you an opportunity to discuss the way final assembly in automotive engineering is impacted by the increasing diversity of different models and by new forms of engines:

  • What are the approaches of manufacturers and suppliers as they seek to meet the rising demand for flexibility and to manage the increasing production of new engine types as well as the proliferation of derivatives?
  • How do logistical supply processes need to be adjusted, so that they can support flexibility in assembly?
  • What technological innovations and IT systems are available to optimise versatile assembly?

Take part in the discussion of these issues and get to know one of the most important competence centres of the BMW Group close to the SOP of the new BMW 8.

Your PLUS: Exclusive guided tour of the Dingolfing plant

As a highlight of the conference, BMW will open their factory doors for all conference participants and will offer a guided toru of the Dingolfing plant. We will be nicely on time for the launch of the new BMW 8 model, and it will be a good time to be shown round the Group´s flagship plant for luxury cars.

We’d love to see you!
